Umbrella armory10/30/2022 My day? Slow for today, we were actually talking about outreaching on discord and reddit which gave me the idea to do an AMA here. Change one thing at a time, regardless of what you see to really know the results of what you changed, then document it! Its hard to get any real data or experience if your opening a gearbox and changing XYZ variables. I can tell you why something works or doesnt, because I've probably tried it, and broke something. UMBRELLA ARMORY TRIALAlmost everything is done with someone going through it via trial and error. The best thing is to just go head in, and try something out. Today theres a plethora of DIYs, posts about builds and what not. There wasn't much written up at the time for a lot of things. Instead of paying someone else to do it, I had the free time in my younger years to take all the time I needed to learn something new and experiment. Teching was kind of one of those ways to help it hurt less. Then 2015 is when we fully dived head into making a business out of it with initially some of the guys that were part of our little 'team'.Īirsoft for me started as a hobby, and with all hobbies. From that point on I started my 4 year venture into teching for money while in college. It wasn't until after a few months, random guys at the field start asking me to tech on their gun, and how much I'd charge. It became a weekly thing, our original airsoft team was over 15 guys, and we had at least 10 guys every single weekend. We were at the grand opening for SC Viper, and I was hooked. Those in Southern California should know about SC Village. Things changed when one of my friends told us to visit a local paintball field that was offering Airsoft games. UMBRELLA ARMORY FOR FREEWasn't until my senior year in high school/early college life I started teching on friends guns for free as I learned more different gearboxes and dealt with more challenging problems. Learned actually most of my teching skillset on that very V2.5 platform. Made a good number of friends in the community online and made several posts about my tech findings back in airsoft mechanics, and airsoft forum (they will be remembered). Stuff that took me a good number of years acquiring as my parents were pretty against having 'guns' in the house. Extreme Fire mosfet, Guarder piston (best at the time), Siegeteks, and an EDGI barrel. But didn't really get invested until 2006, with my A&K SR-25 and found people to actually play with from my school.įrom 2006-2010 started teching my SR25 with all the bells and whistled of the day. Had my first springer airsoft gun in 2002. I'll do my best to answer questions and comments in threads below.
